Another Layout and A Greeting

My head hurts the other day after finishing this layout for my sister. I saw the sun rising before I was finally able to close my eyes. I'm so glad that Jack Jack didn't bother me much that morning. The next day was June 12 (Independence Day - a regular holiday in the Philippines) so I called the printing office to verify if they are open. I was lucky enough to talk to one of them saying that they're closed for today but that he can wait for me. I think I stayed there for a good 30 minutes and the tarpaulin was done! Pretty fast, isn't it!

Oh, the tarpaulin is actually for her birthday. So, happy birthday to my bestest sister! I'm so excited for her to see this...

I miss digiscrapping. It eats a lot of time so I don't do it anymore unless I really need to. Like in Jack Jack's birthday.

Just a quick question, why does my kid like hitting me with anything and pulling my hair?

"ME" Time

When I started this blog, I thought it would be just about me. If you come to think of it, it seems like it became Jack Jack's blog. Not! Maybe it appears to be that way because my life revolves around him now. That doesn't mean I don't have time for myself anymore.

Actually, when Jack Jack reached his third month, I went back to belly dancing. It wasn't only to get back to my pre-pregnancy figure (yeah, stick figure!) but also to take time-out from Jack Jack. Not that I don't want to be with him but I'm just avoiding being burned-out from housework and sitting Jack Jack.

Then, there's my nails. I like to see them always clean and polished. I can do that on my own but time wouldn't be enough and being at home means this activity would just be pushed back until it never gets done. So, I go out and pay a professional to do it for me.

Last are my hot shower baths. I try (because sometimes it's just impossible) to do this everyday and if I'd be lucky enough (when someone can keep an eye on Jack Jack), I can have it longer than 10 minutes.

So there... my quality ME time. What's yours?

We're sick!

Last week Jack Jack and I got sick. I guess it's from the fog. We both took a whole day off. No playing, no TV, no internet and no housework. Just Jack Jack and me - nursing and resting all day. I ordered chinese food and drunk lots of water. The next day, everyone's well and good!

Jack Jack's First Out Of Town Trip

Yep! We did it. An out of town trip with Jack Jack. I was so scared to forget his things and yet I am very careful not to overpack. It wasn't much of a hassle packing his things since I woud be directly breastfeeding him. No bottles needed here. My Mom wanted to go to Tagaytay so we tagged along to breath-in some fresh non-polluted high altitude air of Cavite. Looks like Jack Jack likes the cold weather up there:



We stopped by Ilog Maria for some self-pampering items. Then at Leslie's for dinner. The next day we went to Bag of Beans, Caleruega (to hear mass) and Sonya's Garden. I have created some slides of our pictures:

My Rear View Mirror

Two weeks after giving birth, I was already driving. Not that I couldn't stay at home for long but I needed to do some errands at the time. I noticed something different about my driving since then - it was slower. Goodbye Nascar! I also noticed that rear view mirrors are useless in cars (remember cargo truck drivers doesn't have them?) - except for this.



I can't be sure if it is anything helpful in checking Jack Jack's condition at the back because I find it is distracting my driving. Maybe I should just move the car seat in front?

Portia Knows How To Swim!

Okay, so I promised before I'd be posting videos of Portia swimming from our Dumaguete trip. Here they are now. Enjoy!

Hubby actually doesn't want Portia to swim. Naaawa daw sya. It's in their survival instinct naman that they know how to swim. So there, she learned it by just putting her on water. I wish it is the same with humans.

Week 27 Pregnancy Tip

Too late!

I got this from my email just today. I hope I've seen it before we went to Dumaguete the other week. Oh well, doesn't hurt to post it. It might help other preggers like me who could be planning their summer vacations. I did mine earlier because it would be harder for me to move in the next few months.

There are additional safety issues to consider when traveling during your pregnancy, especially when flying. Most airlines will allow you to travel through your eighth month, and the ninth month with a doctor's written permission. Check with your health care provider the week before you travel and keep the following safety issues in mind when traveling during your pregnancy:

1. Deep vein thrombosis - This is when the blood clots in a deep leg vein. Complications occur when a clot breaks away from the wall of the vein to which it is attached and travels through the blood stream to the heart or lungs. Wear support hose while in flight and walk around as much as possible to promote circulation.

2. Airplane seat belts - Be sure to wear the airplanes seat belt low across your hips and not over your abdomen as this may increase pressure on the baby and cause harm.

3. Good hydration - Bring plenty of water to drink. The low humidity in airplane cabins has a dehydrating effect. Getting plenty of fluids may also reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis.

I wasn't aware of the Deep vein thrombosis until now. The other two I have been practicing eversince I learned about the growing baby inside me.

Portia's Traveling Carrier

We couldn't bear to leave Portia behind during our trips so hubby and I brought her along. We made sure that she would go swiftly, comfortably and problem-free as possible during our flight.

House Party

After another week's work, I invited my family over at our place for an overnight stay. There isn't an occassion but we wanted to treat them just because...

We did a lot of cooking and eating of course! It was a bit of a challenge to cook that much food (most of it by Jojo at assistant ako!). Happy to have learned a lot though.

Then we went swimming for a while sa pool downstairs. It was short but a meaningful visit for us. I wish we could do this more frequently. I miss them na rin kasi...

Lenten Tagaytay

We didn't go far this holy week. We just visited our house in Tagaytay. Err.. Alfonso, Cavite to be exact. I have work until last Friday so we have no choice but to leave Manila Friday night.

We reached the house at around 2AM. The next morning we ate breakfast and got ready for.... barbeque!!!

I missed eating talaba (grilled oysters) I can't remember when was the last time I did that. We liked it cooked tustado. Not well-done, it's very well-done! Yummy! We also barbequed chicken after lunch.

That night my Mom cooked really really cute puto (native rice cake) as our baon (packed food) the next day. I loved eating puto as well, just keep something to drink handy because it can easily get stuck when you swallow it. It taste so nice, I can't help myself not to eat it.

After the Easter Sunday mass, we strolled around Calaruega and took some more pictures.
