DIY: Tumbler

Due to insistent public demand (haha! as if!), I am posting a separate topic regarding the tumbler. Actually, it's just the tumbler template that they were asking but I guess it would also be a lot of help if I were to post how I created the tumbler souvenirs for Jack Jack's birthday party.

Pre-requisite: User must be knowledgeable in Adobe Photoshop.

1. Download the tumbler template here.

2. Edit the layout in Adobe Photoshop to make it appear as how you want it to.

3. Print the layout in Adobe Photoshop. Print the layout in black and white and in low resolution to save on ink. Don't be too excited!

4. Cut the layout and fit it in the tumbler.

5. If it fits, proceeds to the next step. If it doesn't, adjust the size and go back to Step #3.

Final Layout:

6. Print the layout on the desired paper. You may use photo paper, board or regular inkjet bond paper.

7. Cut all layouts.

8. Use double sided tapes to fix the layouts in the tumbler. You can opt not to use the double sided tapes and just simply fix the layouts in the tumbler but having a lose design just wouldn't make me sleep.

Final Product:

9. OPTIONAL: Put the tumbler in a package or wrap it. Since I was lazy, I used the box that came with the tumblers as the package. :P

If you are encountering problems with the download, let me know. This is my first DIY post so I hope you guys find it helpful. Ayt!

Another Layout and A Greeting

My head hurts the other day after finishing this layout for my sister. I saw the sun rising before I was finally able to close my eyes. I'm so glad that Jack Jack didn't bother me much that morning. The next day was June 12 (Independence Day - a regular holiday in the Philippines) so I called the printing office to verify if they are open. I was lucky enough to talk to one of them saying that they're closed for today but that he can wait for me. I think I stayed there for a good 30 minutes and the tarpaulin was done! Pretty fast, isn't it!

Oh, the tarpaulin is actually for her birthday. So, happy birthday to my bestest sister! I'm so excited for her to see this...

I miss digiscrapping. It eats a lot of time so I don't do it anymore unless I really need to. Like in Jack Jack's birthday.

Just a quick question, why does my kid like hitting me with anything and pulling my hair?

Jack Jack's First Birthday - Part 1

Last week, my little Jack Jack turned one. Along with this, I have decided to call him Jack Jack online from now on. Apparently, for his privacy and safety purposes.

Like it or not, I'm back. I haven't been posting for a long time because of the preparations I did for his birthday. His real birthday's May 15 but it was celebrated on the 17th. I'm still waiting for the pictures from the official photographer - yes, I hired one because the pictures would last a lifetime and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do as good a job as his because I'd be busy the whole time.

For now, I'll post pictures of what I DIYed for the party. I created all the layouts from downloaded images from the internet using Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Invites

I had the invite layout printed in 4x6 matte finish for Php7 each. I bought magnetic sheets from the local bookstore so guests can stick it on their fridge. Glue them together after cutting to size. I also printed the maps on colored papers unused from our wedding. The envelopes were from my Mom so it's free.

Personalized Tumbler Souvenirs

Again, I did the layout from Adobe Photoshop CS2. Then I printed the images on A4 size bond papers. The tumblers I bought from another supplier. I used double sided tape to affix the images in the tumbler.

Stage Backdrop

Standee

Both the Stage Backdrop and Standee was printed on tarpaulin. I was lucky to find this vendor along Aurora Boulevard that charges only Php17/square foot for rush tarpaulin printing 4 days before the event. I thought I needed to go to Recto to get the same price. I was also able to find tarpaulin stand from National Bookstore for Php188. Whew! Most of the stands costed Php700++!

Table Centerpiece

This idea came from a fellow GirlTalker mommy_vicky. They are just your regular rubber mat only that they are uber small that you can practically build toy blocks out of it. Thanks sis!

Lootbags

Once again, I got lucky that I found these small Incredibles backpacks. Otherwise, I would have to make do with Incredibles paper bags. Contents would differ according to age and gender.

Baby Lootbag contents:

Older kids Lootbag contents:

These contents can either be for a boy or girl. The only difference with the other contents is that it has Disney Cars instead of Winnie the Pooh. I wasn't able to capture an image of that.

Coloring Pages

I also printed coloring pages of the Incredibles downloaded from different sites. Then I provided crayolas to be place on the kid's tables. It was supposed to be coloring books for the kids but I didn't have enough time to have them binded.

Once I get the complete pictures from the photographer, I'll post Part 2. Whew! I'm so glad that it's done! I can now breathe!

Jack Jack's Scrapblog

I forgot to post this. I haven't been able to digiscrap Jack Jack's pictures because it consumes too much time so here's a shortcut I found.

We Miss You Papa

As most of you know, Papa passed away last year. It still brings sadness to my family when we would remember our loss. Since everything is already prepared, we had to go through my wedding without him around. It's easier to think that he wouldn't be attending (which is impossible) and that we would be seeing him later - but this isn't my case.

I just want to dedicate this post for him after a year. I hope he's happy, proud and at peace.

Here's the last video of him I was able to capture New Year's Eve 2007:

We visited his tomb this afternoon for a small family gathering.

Portia: the Actress

You think you can get away with these looks? Think again...

Can you say no to that?

Apparently, you will end up picking her up and placing her on your lap.

And then you're trapped! Turns out you can't move from your place because it will break your heart when she makes a silent howl that indicates you have disturbed her then goes back to sleep. I have been trying so hard to upload the videos since Saturday but it seems that YouTube isn't on my side.

Works so effectively for hubby and I. We can't seem to bear doing all these antics - most especially for hubby. She also sleeps with us on the bed - I'm not sure how she manages to avoid being rolled on by hubby or me...

Don't worry though. She makes cute hiccup sounds when she's dreaming. She snores, too. Really cute...

I'll try to upload the videos when I can.

Strawberry Ice

I've been wanting to blog about this for quite sometime now but never had the chance to do so. One of my cravings are strawberries but I've been craving about this even before the baby came. Unfortunately, it wasn't in season so Ice Monster doesn't have it. I would often find it in groceries though but the preparation makes me lazy (told you I'm lazy). Anyways, I made this myself in desperation. The strawberries were from SIL. I just added crushed ice from the blender and condensed milk. What's making me lazy from that? I dunno...

New Tricks

Learned a new trick on Photoshop last week about casting shadows. I got my hand on trying it on this LO.

Last week, I did this for an officemate. She said she needs it for her baby's birthday. I wasn't sure if I should post it or not (heck!).

Anyways, I haven't met Ehren (her son) yet. His Mom says he enjoys taking a bath (pretty odd for a kid his age!) so I guess that would be the theme of his party...

Month 3

Here's another layout I finished I week ago. I don't want to post it too early for our third monthsary so here it is. I might not be able to post it on Sunday.... or should I just say, "Couldn't wait!"

I got the kits off from Shabby Princess.

Enjoy!

My First Layout(s?)

I'm not sure if this is enough to call digiscrapping but hey, it's my first.

A shot of Constantine. Tina and Tone's firstborn baby boy.

I must be hooked to scrappin already as I didn't plan on doing the following layouts as well but here it is:

My family spent a night at our place last April 14. We did a little all nighter with my bro and her girl.

About the credits... can someone help me out how to put in credits for the creators of the kits? Thanks...
